The crushed shell driveway leads to stunning twig dogwoods\, magnolias\, rhododendron and azalea as you enter the front yard. Wander through holly and lilac to leucothoe standing sentinel over a patch of irises that have accompanied the family to every home they’ve lived in. A gently sloping lawn showcases multitudes of hydrangeas plus roses\, Montauk daisy and Rose of Sharon. The expansive perennial garden includes a fire pit\, a charming garden swing shaded by a towering Japanese cedar\, and a Colonial-era split rail fence separating the property from the adjacent miniature meadow. Meander amongst skip laurel\, spirea\, andromeda\, Sweet Autumn clematis\, red threadleaf Japanese maple\, sweet pepperbush \, and butterfly bush interspersed with hydrangeas. Continue around the house for a unique Texas redbud and climbing white hydrangeas. Enjoy the serenity of this enchanting secret garden! \nGarden Directions: Approaching from Main Street Chatham\, turn onto Cross Street\, passing Chase Park on your left and follow to Stage Harbor Road. Cross over to Cedar Street. The house is the third driveway on your left #49. (Only 5 miles from “A Little Inn on Pleasant Bay”)  \nGarden Parking: Limited parking is available on the property. Additional parking can be found ¼ mile away at Chase Park & along Cross Street as you approach Stage Harbor Road. More than 100 hydrangeas in a spectrum of cultivars and colors unfold across lush English gardens\, joined by abundant rose bushes that frame breathtaking views of sailing regattas on the bay. Wander past a tranquil fish pond with its soothing fountain\, discover a charming garden shed nestled among vibrant perennial beds\, and enjoy the abundance of urns and window boxes overflowing with seasonal color. Two enchanting “Secret Gardens” supply the inn’s signature “Inn-to-Table” breakfasts with fresh herbs\, produce\, and edible flowers. The raised bed garden features a terraced seating area with Adirondack chairs and a petite chiminea to enjoy the view of the working cranberry bog next door\, which visitors are also welcome to stroll and explore. \nGarden Directions: Traveling north from Chatham on Route 28 South\, you will have scenic views of Pleasant Bay on your right.
